Abstract

The purpose of this article is to show the virtue of sobriety as the foundation of human freedom. This paper points out its importance in the light of the teaching of the Catholic Church and emphasizes that the responsible use of the gift of freedom requires the ability to control oneself and one’s weaknesses, and thus also avoiding addiction. The conclusions show that sobriety is not only a personal commitment, but also an effort for the good of the entire Nation.
